SHARK WEEK!

WE LOVE SHARKS! The kiddos and I had so much fun this week exploring the ocean and the big sharks! We watched live streams and shark cams from all over the world. We learned about the Whale Shark and fun facts about the Great White, we talked about a hammer heads eyes and what sharks like to eat. We did an experiment and learned that sharks’ oily livers help them float! We built on our fine motor by coloring, gluing and naming our own sharks, check out the hallway!

Next week, we are starting farm animals and if it goes anything like this week we are going to have a blast! We will be working on balancing and counting in a fun egg math activity, we have lots of silly gross motor activities planned including “Balloon animal herding”.  We will be focusing on Noah’s Ark which seems like a perfect match to me and our theme book is “Old MacDonald Had a Boat”. We will also be kickstarting our color and letter focus with the color red and letter A. We are going to be learning about the parts of a story with a daily discussion of our books. During calendar each day we are learning the sign language sign for the day of the week and we will be starting Spanish soon!

Check the photo tab or Facebook for all the fun photos from this week and have a great Labor Day weekend! Just a reminder there is no school on Monday, see you all Tuesday!
